We are excited to announce that Baobab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WeLabelData, a company in Ukraine that provides employment opportunities to vulnerable communities as annotators.

Since 2022, Baobab has been offering its Annotation Skills Training Program (ALT Program) to refugees both in Japan and abroad.

 

Four successful program sessions have been held so far, enabling participants—including those juggling caregiving, child-rearing, and those who face challenges with traditional employment—to gain practical annotation expertise.

 

Participants have shared positive feedback about the program, with comments such as, “I’m grateful to be able to work,” “This job suits me,” and “I want to further improve my skills in this promising field.”

 

With the signing of this MOU, Baobab seeks to further extend opportunities for reskilling in annotation and IT to individuals affected by the far-reaching impacts of the war in Ukraine. We aim to provide these individuals with new job opportunities in global markets, ultimately empowering them to improve their livelihoods and develop sustainable careers.
