Sharing Baobab’s Initiatives with Meta: Fireside Chat with Baobab at Meta Tokyo

2024.12.12

On December 11, 2024, Baobab’s CEO, Miori Sagara, headlined the Fireside Chat with Baobab, hosted by Meta at their Tokyo office. This event was made possible by Meta’s Disability Empowerment Team and Women@ Team.

During the first half of the event, we highlighted the exceptional performance of individuals with developmental disorders and autism who are actively contributing as Baoparts at Baobab. We also shared inspiring cases of how these individuals have been empowered through their work with us.

In addition, we introduced Baobab’s unique initiatives that create an environment where Baoparts can work comfortably. This included our approach to fostering effective communication and operations, which we prioritize daily to support their success.

The latter half of the event focused on discussions around women’s careers and support for minority women.

In Japan, the employment rate of people with disabilities in the information and communication sector is only 1.9%, the lowest among various industries (Source: Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, 2023 Disability Employment Statistics):

One of the key themes of this event was, “How can people with and without disabilities work together? Specifically, how can we collaborate in the increasingly significant AI (technology) sector?”

We hope this event provided insights into Baobab’s specific initiatives and challenges, serving as inspiration for the future.

Baobab remains committed to crossing corporate boundaries and striving for “A society where everyone
is accepted as they are, and choices in life are unrestricted”

A heartfelt thank you to Meta for hosting this event!
